How to find the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and pick the rightvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sea Colony Retreat - Newly remodeled oceanfront condo! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
