Strategies to get the perfect Bald Head Island rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the best rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sea Questered
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
