Tips to get the best Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to book:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Holden Beach. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Shore Beats Workin' - Great Canal Home with 40-foot Dock! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
