Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best vacation rental in Carolina Beach:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. SLW13122: The Longboard Lodge- New Townhome! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
