Strategies to get the best rental home experience:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • To book the best rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing and booking the best Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Sol Retreat: Ocean View, Dog-friendly Condo with Seasonal Community Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
