How to book the best Cape Fear area rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sol Retreat: Ocean View, Dog-friendly Condo with Seasonal Community Pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
