Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Wilmington rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Wilmington. To get the best value, change your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. The Hogg-Anderson House has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
