Summary:
Located at the corner of front and main in downtown Wrightsville Beach, the WB Abodes team is happy to introduce 'The Tarrymore'. Its name stems from the iconic hotel that sat on the corner of Lumina Ave and Stone street in the early 1900’s.

All three units come equipped with full kitchens, full baths, Juliet balconies, washers and dryers, as well as elevated linens and bath products. 'The Lumina' is a 2 bedroom and 1 bath unit with vistas of Banks Channel.

The Space:
The Lumina is a completely modernized and professionally designed space up-fitted with our highest-end amenities including Parachute linens, Parachute bath towels, Malin & Goetz soaps/hair products and is outfitted with Casa-Blanca coffee! The Lumina ideally balances luxury with a laid back surfer's getaway feel, portraying the two sides of what make Wrightsville Beach so charming.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The Tarrymore is in the heart of downtown Wrightsville Beach…putting itself within walking distance to the beach and also right across the street from Wrightsville’s favorite nightlife. There is a potential for noise, however during renovations we took as many steps as possible to remedy this by having impact glass windows and doors installed, double sheetrock, insulation and provide white noise machines in each bedroom.

Guest Access:
The Tarrymore is located above the iconic ‘Tower 7’ and is home to three WB Abode units. All of them are 100% private and only share a parking lot and lobby! The Lumina has 1 assigned parking space directly behind the unit, with signage!

Other Things to Note:
1. ***NO EVENTS or exceeding the guest limit***
2. Unit is directly across the street from multiple ‘late nighttime’ establishments so there is a potential for noise Thursday-Sunday.
3. As a professional property management firm, we do require a signed rental agreement per the NCREC.
4. Inclement weather will not be grounds for any refund if within the cancellation period.

About the Area

Located in Wrightsville Beach, this apartment is near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach. Aussie Island Surf Shop and Cape Fear Paddleboarding are also worth visiting.

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your Cape Fear area vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick yourrental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. The Lumina at The Tarrymore has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area beach you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
