Strategies to get the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Lake Waterfront Cottage, a short walk to the Beach, Boardwalk has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
