Our top Cape Fear area rental booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summer months are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental home:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Top Floor Suite of classic 1940's Beach Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
