Cape Fear area vacation rental tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Walk to the beach or kayak and fish on the Davis Canal! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
