Wrightsville Beach rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit Wrightsville Beach & When to book:
- Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the right Cape Fear area vacation home:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Spectacular views in this 2BR Station One Condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
