Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best vacation home:

  • To start, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 066 Spirit of Sunset by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
