Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting the best rental home:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Hobbs Realty - Located on the Intracostal Waterway with Private Boat Dock and Gas Grill has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
