Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 14 Us: Oceanfront Home with Kayaks, Horseshoe Pit and More Close to Pier has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
