Rental home booking tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a Carolina Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. ? 3 Little Birds at The Beach? has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
