Searching for the ultimate getaway for a coastal hideaway with your family, friends, and furry pals? Look no further than Sun and Waves — a splendid pet-friendly 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom vacation home on Oak Island! It's conveniently located between the beach and Montgomery Slough, giving you the best of both worlds: ocean and marsh vistas! Highlights include a private pool, multiple balconies, two massive primary suites (both with additional trundle daybeds), and so much more. Plus, it's a short walk to the beach and less than 2 miles from the Ocean Crest Pier, where you'll find oceanfront eateries and marvelous fishing.

Appreciate your morning coffee or the famed sunsets from one of the two oceanside balconies with your furry family members! The lower balcony features a bench swing and multiple chairs; it even has a gate to keep the doggies from going to the beach without you. The upper balcony offers spectacular ocean vistas and has a dining table ideal for playing games or eating together! Heading to the ground level, you'll find the cavernous private pool with wide steps and various multi-level spots for sitting and calming partially underwater. There's ample seating in this fenced-in area with two tables and multiple lounger chairs to relax in the sun or watch the stars together at nighttime. And when it's time for some beach waves, all you need are your leashes! Beach chairs and a wagon are supplied to make the fast walk to the shore a breeze.

Inside, you'll be greeted into the calming yet handsome living space with coastal vibes and comfortable couches to kick your feet up after a long day of fun in the sun! Turn on the tropical-weave ceiling fan for an interior breeze, and watch your favorite shows or movies on the flatscreen TV. The galley-style kitchen features granite countertops, a huge double sink, stainless steel appliances, and an abundance of extravagant cabinetry. Have a master griller in your group? There's even a gas grille on the back balcony to prepare your newly caught seafood and favorite recipes! When it's time to gather around for meals, you'll find a refined dining table with seating for up to 8 and a bar top area that seats up to 3. If you prefer dining outside, there are many options — including the bistro dining set on the back balcony, where you can overlook the marsh and pool.

The downstairs primary bedroom suite is enormous! It features a king-size bed, a flatscreen TV, and an ensuite bathroom with dual vanity, ample storage space, and a tub/shower combination. You'll also find an attached sunroom with a twin daybed with a twin trundle that can be closed off with a sliding door. The upstairs primary suite is just as broad and has a matching setup — king-size bed, ensuite with tub/shower combination, and additional sunroom with a twin daybed with a twin trundle. The third bedroom is located on the top floor and is great for the younger travelers in your group with themed comforters and 2 sets of bunk beds (one is a twin over twin, and the other is a double over double). It also has an ensuite bathroom featuring an extended vanity and a walk-in corner shower.

There's no way for us to list all of the amenities you'll find at Sun and Waves, like the half bath and laundry room combination on the main floor! There's even an outdoor shower with hot/cold water and wireless internet if you need to stay connected while you're here. Sound like the ideal hideaway for you and your group? Book your stay today!

* Pool can be heated for an additional fee, weather permitting. Please inquire for further details.

Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Reserve your Cape Fear area rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 3rd Row w\/ Private Pool, 2 Primary Suites & VIEWS has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
