Tips to get the best Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and pick the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 4 BR Home with ICWW views, Community Pool and Fishing Dock has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
