Finding the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • To find the best value, change your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 5 Bedroom, 5.5 Bathroom, Huge Private Pool, Incredible Ocean Views! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
