Plus, a dock 3 blocks away to launch kayaks and boat or do some fishing or boating. Also, in walking distance to kid's water park, mini golf and Middleton Park (which features live outdoor concerts, movie nights and festivals regularly throughout the summer), tennis and basketball courts and playground are all in walking distance as well. Walk or grab a golf cart to get around and appreciate all of what OKI has to offer.

Renovated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home sleeps 8. Grand completely fenced in deck area with patio and grille. Deck extends to back where there is a backyard firepit area and enclosed outside shower. The home has a queen in master, twins in second bedroom and trundle twins in front bedroom, as well as queen couch bed. Linens and towels included at no additional fee. Southport is a 10 min drive and has a great downtown area with stores, antique mall, brewery, wine stop, waterfront parks and great waterfront eateries. NC Aquarium is close (15 min ferry from Southport to Ft Fisher). Bald Head Island ferry can also be taken from Southport. The waterfront in historic downtown Wilmington is a 30 min drive, as well as USS North Carolina Battleship, which is open for tours.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the most suitable vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. A Shore Thing - Great Location! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
