Tips to get the very best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Right On the Beach - Spectacular Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
