About this Property

  • Private vacation home

Sea La Vie -- Sunset Beach is a great property located on one of the most beautiful streets on the island. The interior of the home was newly repainted and now provides a bright beachy ambiance for your calming family vacation. The home is in a peaceful location just a short walk to both the beach and the inter-coastal waterway. Appreciate dinners around the rustic kitchen table, drinks on the screened-in porch and handsome vistas of the sun setting over Bird Island from the second floor balcony.

The home has five bedrooms -- three upstairs and two downstairs -- each with a controllable ceiling fan. The ocean can be seen from the upstairs bedrooms. The two bedrooms on the front of the home (one downstairs and one upstairs) have a king bed and a queen bed, respectively, and sliding glass doors leading onto private balconies overlooking Bull Creek and the marshes of Bird Island. The two bedrooms on the back of the home (one downstairs and one upstairs) also have queen beds. As an added additional, there is a twin bed located in a modest bedroom on the back of the home.

There are two bathrooms (one downstairs and one upstairs) that are shared by the bedrooms on each level. For the more adventurous, there are two private outdoor showers located under the home.

The kitchen is entirely equipped with cookware, dishes, glassware, barware and silverware to effortlessly feed and entertain a event of twelve. The sizable square kitchen table seats eight or more and is the ideal place for family dinners or late nighttime card games. The kitchen has a enormous refrigerator with ice maker, an electric range, a microwave, a dishwasher and and a garbage disposal. A coffee maker and single-serve coffee maker are supplied, as is a blender for smoothies or tropical beverages.

The roomy living area at the front of the home provides comfortable seating for both adults and kids. There is a huge coffee table that is ideal for playing board games or assembling puzzles. For the digitally inclined, there is a huge screen T.V. with SmartTV and a Blu-ray/DVD player in the living room as well as smaller SmartTV T.V.s in all of the bedrooms. Wireless internet is supplied through a cable internet router.

Off the front of the living room through a set of sliding glass doors is a screened-in porch with patio furnishings. It is the ideal location to appreciate morning coffee or evening drinks. With the serenity of the Bird Island marsh just across the street, the peacefulness experienced while sitting in one of the rocking chairs reading a book is unparalleled.

Under the home is covered parking for cars, rocking chairs and open air space for kids to play. A new gas grille also provides a large platform for outdoor cooking.

Unlike other property units at Sunset Beach, Sea La Vie comes with many items that other owners require their tenants to rent or bring with them for their stay. For instance, we provide a number of beach chairs and a beach wagon for renters to use during their stay. (Linens, however, are not included with the rental).

The boardwalk beach access on 40th Street is just a few mins.' walk from Sea La Vie and has no stairs, making it one of the easiest walks to the ocean on the island. The home's close proximity to the ocean make it convenient to return to for bathroom breaks, lunch or a mid-day nap for the kids. The beach at the 40th Street access also is the least busy because there is no development beyond this point. Rolling surf and a gently sloping beach also make it a good place to learn to handle a surfboard.

At the center of Sunset Beach Island is a modest village of stores. You can take a leisurely walk from Sea La Vie to get ice cream, Italian ice, snacks and island souvenirs. You also can grab a casual lunch overlooking the ocean at the Sunset Beach Pier Grille. Finally, if you need need something during the day, there is a modest grocery store on the island.

For those who prefer fresh water entertainment, Bull Creek and the waterways through the marsh beyond 40th Street provide relaxing areas to kayak or stand-up paddle board. Boats and jet skis are available for rental from marinas in close by Ocean Isle or North Myrtle Beach.

For golfers, the area surrounding Sunset Beach has a wide variety of courses challenging to all levels of players. Given the number of courses, it is rarely a problem to find a tee time. There are even putt putt courses for little golfers to savor.

You will also enjoy the many eateries that are within a short drive of the home. In addition to the many local seafood eateries, there are magnificant Italian eateries, Mexican eateries, continental eateries and even a Jamaican restaurant.

Finally, for those looking for more excitement, the bright lights of Myrtle Beach are just over the border in South Carolina. With outlet shopping, eateries, live music, carnival rides, miniature golf and the boardwalks, there is something to entertain every member of your family.

Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Beach House on 40th Street with Views of Ocean has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
