Cape Fear area vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing a perfect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Captain's Quarters: Main Floor Suite of Classic 1940's Beach Cottage Duplex has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
