Our family has been visiting Ocean Isle beach every summer for 30 years. It is really a special place, with striking beaches, eateries options fit for families and foodies, a amazing park and spray pad for the kids, daily fun events planned by the town for families (including concerts, movie events, scavenger hunts), fishing and water sports abound, a museum, and very close to Myrtle Beach for many other fun options. Don’t miss sunset slush and a family put-put outing (our kids favorite things!). Cheeky Tiki is designed and constructed for multi-generational use in mind, brand new for the 2023 summer season. We wanted to create an ocean getaway that supplied all of the elements we have looked for when selecting homes for our family each summer. Simple ocean access is vital for a calming day at the beach. We are diagonally across from Winnabow beach access. One of the least busy and widest stretches of Ocean Isle beach. Easily walk back for bathroom and lunch breaks or to grab a cool drink. It is impossible not to be casual while sitting on our multiple immense deck areas with tons of shade and ocean vistas from every direction. Savor lunch alfresco while taking in the impressive vistas.
Our home was created with comfort and fun in mind. Each bedroom has a dedicated bathroom for privacy, a huge intelligent TV, as well as comfortable linens and window coverings to create a peaceful, dark relaxing sleeping area. 2 huge living rooms are available so you can separate your more animated home guest in one fun space (complete with 2 arcade games each with over 500 games, shuffle board, wet bar, sizable intelligent tv and board/card games) while keeping the other space for a more relaxing adult environment (complete with tons of cozy seating, huge intelligent tv and electric fireplace).
We have designed our kitchen to make cooking for a sizable crowd simple. You will find double full size fridges/freezers to hold enough food and drinks for a crowd, plus double ice makers! Plenty of storage space for food in our walk in pantry. All the cooking silverware you need to make delicious meals for your family of up to 18. Our dining table sits 12 people comfortably and our bar area seats an additional 6 (with barstools with backs so you actually can put the kids in your group at the bar).
We want your time at Cheeky Tiki spent making memories you will never forget. And hope you will visit us again! We will provide recommendations for activities and eateries during your stay. We are always accessible for questions or issues that may arise . A enormous heated pool surrounded with seating can be appreciated by everybody. Also you will find a tiki bar with wet sink, bar stools and intelligent TV. It’s a ideal place to use our margarita maker to savor beverages by the pool. Also on the first floor is a comfortable outdoor covered seating area, a gas grille, outdoor shower, and covered hot tub. You will find in our secured locked first floor area outdoor games, pool floats, pool toys, and a wagon if needed to carry things over the beach.
As a family with young kids, we know what is important to parents when traveling with kids. Safety is important to us. All wet areas (pool and hot tub) are behind gates that are not conveniently opened by kids. Our elevator is up to code and inspected for safety with kids in mind (Although we require all elevator use with adults only and elevators can be locked to prohibit kids from playing). We have infant gates available if needed. We provide a pack n play as well as a folding crib (but bring your own sheets please). 2 high chairs as well as kid friendly dishes/silverware/cups supplied. You will also find games and some toys for those occasional rainy days. Good sleep is a necessity to really make your visit a vacation and not just a trip. The bunk room has been set up to provide a good nights sleep for a crowd of kids if needed. (4 full size beds as well as 2 twin trundles). This area also includes a nugget couch and other fort building supplies for hours of fun. Our kids most favorite summer activity is the week at the beach with their cousins. We want to provide that fun week for all the kids visiting Cheeky Tiki! In one of our master bedrooms, we have created a comfortable sleep space for a infant. The walk in closet is large enough to hold a pack n play or folding crib. It has a dedicated air vent as well as plugs for a monitor or sound machine if needed. No creeping around a dark room with a sleeping infant!
We want your time at Cheeky Tiki spent making memories you will never forget. And hope you will visit us again! We will provide recommendations for activities and eateries during your stay. We are always accessible for questions or issues that may arise .

Tips to get the optimal Cape Fear area rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Cape Fear area rental home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Cheeky Tiki, New Build at Beach Access with Stunning Views + Heated Pool + Tiki Bar + Hot Tub + Game has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
