Revel in the ideal combination of togetherness and private space at this striking duplex, ideal for two modest families visiting together. A rare find on Oak Island, this ocean view home has identical floor plans on both levels connected by an exterior staircase. Guests can even bring fido along for a true family vacation. With simple beach access just a few homes over, this hidden gem is just waiting to be discovered.

Each level of this home features an open concept living space accepting for cavernous bungalow living. Both living rooms are brightly lit with beautiful beach décor and comfortable seating, each furnished with one of the two double-sized sleepers couches along with a flatscreen TV for family movie nights. If game nighttime is more your speed, a huge coffee table stands ready with more than enough space for you to monopolize.

In each kitchen area you’ll find granite granite counter tops and stainless-steel appliances, a modern space designed for cooking modest family meals and appreciating peaceful moments. Barstool seating for four is included to gather around the center island at the end of an eventful day to appreciate drinks, snacks and conversation.

Right off the eat-in area on each level you’ll find a full bathroom, which includes a full-sized tub/shower combo. Closest to the bathroom there is a guest bedroom with a double sized bed. A TV is supplied in each of these bedrooms, so the kiddos can still drift off to their favorite movie while the game is on in the living room. This room also includes the washer and dryer inside of the utility closet.

As the final interior space, the front bedroom of each floor provides a calming respite, where you can drift off to sleep to the sounds of waves crashing just across the road. These clean and simply decorated sleeping quarters with a subtle nautical theme feature an inviting king-sized bed and their own flat screen TV for leisure time.

Outside, you’ll find a modest patio space on the ground floor with three Adirondack chairs and a table that begs to be appreciated in the morning sunshine with a cup of coffee. You’ll also find an enclosed outdoor shower, a lifesaver on a beach trip involving modest kids or dogs. The gravel parking pad in front of the home provides plenty of space to park at least four cars.

Getting the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal Cottage Whole House: Unique Floor Plan Provides Privacy For Two Groups T has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
