Welcome to The Silvery Moon – a refreshed 1940s beach bungalow, with all the charms of the 1940s and the amenities of 2025! We are a dog friendly property and allow up to two well-behaved dogs. The backyard is fenced in for them too! The bungalow sleeps 6 and has 2 sizable bedrooms with giant closets and 2 completely remodeled bathrooms. The open floor plan offers a sizable entirely supplied kitchen with tons of cabinets, and a family room that spills into the enclosed porch. With tons of windows, there are multiple with ocean vistas! The beds, beds, L-shaped couch and chairs are all new. The bungalow has been modernized and decorated to feel like you are back in the 1940s, with shiplap throughout and framed art with forties flare!

The primary bedroom has a king-size bed and private bathroom, plus two enormous closets. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed and huge closet. Both bedrooms have dressers, bamboo hard-wood floors and mounted 42” TVs. The main living area has a full bathroom, including a tub, a huge completely-supplied kitchen area, a big island with 3 chairs, a large couch and chair, and a 58” TV. The enclosed porch has a queen-size pull-out couch, a privacy screen, numerous chairs and a reading nook that overlooks the ocean.

Appreciate the broad deck while you BBQ with family and friends. The outdoor table lets you savor your food and drink while you appreciate the sea breezes! The bungalow comes with 6 beach chairs, a BBQ, pillows, sheets, towels, including beach towels, has an outdoor shower, and parking for 4 cars.

Once you park your car, you can leave it there, as the bungalow sits on a one-way street that is more like a pedestrian walkway and convenient to nearly anything in town! It's an simple walk to the Carolina Beach boardwalk to the North, and the Ocean Grille & Tiki Bar to the South. Other attractions within walking distance are Carolina Beach Lake, the Greenway, Veggie Wagon, Britts Donuts, eateries, and bars, including locals’ and tourists’ favorite, the Fat Pelican, voted one of the top 25 dive bars in the country!

If you've never been to Carolina Beach before, you're in for a treat! We're a incredible family friendly beach town with pizza stores, ice cream stores, seafood eateries, and three grocery stores. You'll never have to (or want to) leave the island. During the summer there are complimentary outdoor concerts and movies, a weekly Farmers Market, and Thursday nighttime fireworks- all within walking distance. Stroll the boardwalk, head down to the Kure Beach pier, visit the NC Aquarium or take in some local Civil War history at Fort Fisher. How to find the best Cape Fear area rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer months are high season in Carolina Beach. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing the best Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Updated beach cottage, ocean views. Tons of Outdoor Space! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
