Our top Cape Fear area vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wilmington. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Downtown 3BR Gem - Hot Tub - Covered Parking - Fenced Yard has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
