Our top Rental home tips and tricks:

When to book a Cape Fear area rental & When to go:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Holden Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Cape Fear area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect rental in Holden Beach:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront house with fireplace, central AC, W\/D & outdoor shower - dog-friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
