Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Sunset Beach. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Easy Breezy is a stunning 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house with a private pool and elevator has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
