Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sea Colony 19A - Escape & enjoy this ocean front condo. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
