Emily's Ideal Day Beach House at 23 Cumberland St. provides a great setting to have a ideal day, every day. The back of Emily's Ideal Day is directly fronted on a canal waterway. These canals are manmade. Some of the older canals have natural edges, and the newer ones have nicer concrete sides to them. 23 Cumberland is on one of the concrete canals, with deep water, and can handle boat travel, even at low tide. This canal waterway is tied into the Intracoastal Waterway a short distance away. At Ocean Isle Beach, there is a “beach access” street every numerous blocks. The town of Ocean Isle was very thoughtful in setting up tons of beach accesses with parking, unlike most, if not all of the other close by beaches. Cumberland Street is one street over from beach access Goldsboro St. in a peaceful part of the island that does not get many “daytrippers” and 1.2 miles from the island center. The 23 Cumberland is about 400 yards from the beach, but the included golf cart is a delight. You can park it right at the beach access. This is a spectacular home that is very gorgeously appointed throughout and will provide a very pleasant setting for you and your family to create a memorable vacation. The home features and huge great room with wood floors on the main level and enormous bar seating (6 chairs) in the kitchen and dining table for 6- 12 in total. The kitchen is entirely equipped with modren stainless appliances and electric stove. Plenty of pots pans and cooking accessories including crock pot and blender. Two bedrooms on the main level, one with king bed and one with queen bed, both en suite and both with covered decks just outside (street side). Bathrooms are both sink and tub/shower combo. There is an additional 1/2 bath in laundry room area just off the kitchen. Upper level features 3 more bedrooms including a master with king and deluxe bathroom with walk-in shower and garden tub. The master suite also has a private covered porch overlooking the canal waterway. The other two 2 upper level bedrooms are also en suite with shower/tub combos, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 bunk sets. All bedrooms include HDTV’s (7 HDTV’s in total, including one in the outdoor lounge area underneath the home). All bedrooms are sizable. There is plenty of room to spread out for multiple family groups. All 7 TV’s are intelligent TV’s with ROKU, and include local channels via FOCUS. The supplied golf cart seats 4 with the rear seat that can be used as a seat or folded down to take your beach stuff comfortably to the beach access. We have access to a second golf cart for an additional discounted charge (not always available- ask us). Unfinished room on the ground floor with ping pong table. Also in the huge garage are beach chairs and toys, corn hole, and bicycles. Two single sit-on-top kayaks supplied. The ground level is an inside air conditioned entry area and the elevator. Elevator goes to all levels- Elevator door opening 28" wide with inside dimensions of 30"W x 44"Deep x 78" Height. The 23 Cumberland has a nice fenced yard on the waterside and a large private dock and fish cleaning stand. Dock has water hose at the dock, which is very handy for our boater guests. Outside underneath home is a nice gas grille and bar area with seating. Covered underneath is a great gathering area for family conversation, hanging out, and games – includes a hammock. The hot tub (6 person) is great and is located in very generously laid out back yard with great space for gathering and hanging out. These extras all provide a nice touch for families and make Emily's Ideal Day Beach House a great value and a great family choice.

Tips for getting the perfect Cape Fear area rental experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to reserve a Ocean Isle Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the bestrental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Exquisite-CanalWaterfront,5br\/5.5ba Elevator HTub GolfCart,PPong, all includedWOW has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before booking your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
