Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Island Treasure, CB Oceanfront Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a certain Cape Fear area destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
