Our top Cape Fear area rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Cape Fear area rental home & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in Oak Island. Book your rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. \"Goins 2 Need A Bigger Boat\" Modern 3B\/2.5B beach home with ocean views has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's an individual Cape Fear area destination you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
