Wrightsville Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfect Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Nathans Cottage Lower - Bottom floor duplex next to Oceanic Pier has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
