Tricks and tips to get the perfect Cape Fear area vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best vacation rental in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront condo with pool. Easy walk to CB Boardwalk! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Tips to have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
