When you want to nestle down with a cup of coffee and a book in nature, relax on the back porch overlooking Davis Canal. Parking:
Boat trailers allowed. Private Driveway with plenty of space for up to six cars. Covered parking for two, the rest is open. No Golf Carts Accepted.

Linens: Linens will be wrapped in sanitary packaging and laying on the bedspread

Rental Policies:
In response to increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.

Arrival/Departure:
Summer Check-Ins (June-August) begin at 4pm and are guaranteed by 6pm
Off Season Check-Ins begin at 3pm and are guaranteed by 5pm
Check Out is by 10 am.
We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early early or plan to delay your departure.

Cancellation Policy:
- Free cancellation within 48 hours of booking
- After 48 hours of booking and more than 60 days out from arrival, a full refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee
- After 48 hours of booking and within 60 days of arrival, there will be no refund processed unless the dates are re rented. If premises are re rented, a refund will be processed less a $300 cancellation fee.

Things To Do:
Oak Island is known for its golden sand beaches, calming blue waters, friendly community, and close proximity to the cities of Southport, Wilmington, and Myrtle Beach. There are many cute island coffee stores, stores, breweries, and a park that showcases a splash-pad for summer fun! With a gorgeous Golf Club open to summer travelers and over 100 public water access points, there is an abundance of all things adventurous to do on Oak Island! 

If you'd like to keep your exercise routine going while on vacation, you can get an out-of-town Gym pass at Oak Island Recreation Center. Utilize the Rec Center's ample parking, put in at the Kayak ramp and spend hours kayaking our pretty marshes.  Sit on the lawn and appreciate a nighttime off cooking at our Weekly Friday nighttime "Summer Concert In The Park" with a couple of local food truck options at this family centric Live Music event. Beach Day takes place in Oak Island on the Friday prior to July 4th and features all day activities followed by fireworks on the island that evening.

Visit Historic Southport, a seafaring town just five miles from our island, for a bigger nightlife. Southport, at the confluence of the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, features a variety of different eateries, bars, live music and shopping. It is one of our favorite places to walk around and check out different food and live music on the weekends. There are complimentary parking options all over town, and you can comfortably walk to dozens of places while appreciating the breeze from the riverfront and admiring historic homes and general store buildings that date back to the early 1800s. Southport's State Fourth of July Festival is a three-day street fair with artists from all over the state, vendors, and food. It is really like being in an Andy Griffith episode with the parade and huge finale fireworks show over the riverfront in Southport.

About the Area

Located on a river, this vacation home is in Long Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Franklin Square Gallery and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Bald Head Island Information Center and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport. Jet skiing and water skiing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and hiking nearby.

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. To find the best value, try changing your family's Cape Fear area trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses.   • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
