Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, change your family's Cape Fear area vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. ~RENOVATED~ Top Floor Oceanfront Condo w\/ Pool, Spacious Deck, Desirable Area has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a particular Cape Fear area beach you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
