Strategies to get the very best Cape Fear area rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Finding the perfect rental home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean View, 3 Bedrooms, Loft, 4 Baths, BHI Club Available has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
