Tips to get the perfect Carolina Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Condo w\/ Spectacular Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
