Tips for getting the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the rightrental:

  • To start, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Modern upscale-House @ Lake-Golf Cart Rental-EV has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
