Tips for getting the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pool . Hot tub . Putting. Golf Cart . WIFI . SEAcret has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Contact the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
