Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Reel Paradise - 5223 E. Beach Drive - Coastal Vacation Resorts has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Cape Fear area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area beach you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
