How to book the best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Cape Fear area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Cape Fear area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Cape Fear area area:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. THE MERMAID COTTAGE! Ocean Front, Beachy interior, Pet friendly, Fishing piers! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a specific Cape Fear area destination you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
