Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Cape Fear area area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Finding the perfect rental in the Cape Fear area area:
- To start, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. THE SANDBAGGER @ OCEAN ISLE has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Cape Fear area attraction you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
