Tucked in a flower filled garden, the Casita delights with Southwestern - Santa Barbara inspired design. Wilmington and the Casita are ideal all year round. If you are boycotting another short stay travel platform, please note the owner of the Casita, has over 1000, 4.99 star reviews, on that platform and sympathizes with you and offers her property here. Come visit the garden and relax in the hot tub.

The Casita has a darling compact and complete kitchen. It comes equipped with an open window bar featuring a striking bar top crafted from River Cypress, that was reclaimed from the bottom of the Cape Fear River and lovingly restored. I appreciate the secret pocket door that separates the kitchen from the hall way .

In the hallway area, you will find beach equipment (towels, chairs, umbrella and sunblock ).
There is a living room area with a adore seat, coffee table, media shelving and a " fold out to a twin bed" ottoman. The Casita has Intelligent TV. The Casita has a big storage closet and an armoire, to help organize your "new" home.

The bathroom is designed to showcase the rustic Southwestern ambiance and features a bespoke glass shower wall .

The Bedroom area features a Nectar Mattress the Guests rave above and modren duvets and sheets to ensure a restful experience. A black out curtain pulls out from behind the armoire. Historic wooden beams from the Architectural Salvage Store 'Legacy' divide the living area from the bedroom area.

Guests can savor the mild beach town climate al fresco on the front patio at the bistro table for breakfast or coffee or on the screened back deck patio with festive string lighting, perhaps while appreciating a glass of wine.

This ground floor apartment is all yours with no shared spaces. You enter on the side of the Casita with a key coded lock entry. My backyard garden is open to you for your enjoyment. Right outside the entry door in the adjacent garden, a four man hot tub is available to guests of the Casita and the Carriage House. A fire table and screen deck are right behind the Casita for open air enjoyment of all 4 seasons.

The Casita is a ground floor apartment and the Carriage House is located above the Casita. Between the two apartments there is a noise diffusing floor underlayment and there is a noise machine and 2 fans, as well as a dehumidifier to ensure that noise does not interfere with your relaxing environment.

The Casita is located in the Princess Place neighborhood along side Burnt Mill Creek. The coastal creek side walk can be accessed off of Princess Place Road behind the Photography Studio. Coastal birds and wildlife abound. Alligators and turtles bask on the opposite bank on warm days. Egrets, Herons, Owls and Anhingas delight bird watchers.

It is a mile and 3/4 to the downtown board walk and Market Street, Chestnut or Princess Street offer a breathtaking walking opportunity to those inclined to tour the city on foot. Wrightsville Beach is 7 miles away and is particularly nice off season. Watersport's and land adventures make Wilmington an adventure destination. The weather is rather mild in the winter with the weather falling in the 60's (F) on most days.

Wilmington has a plethora of dining opportunities from local seafood to ethnic cuisine. Wilmington has also become well known for its coffee stores and breweries. I adore the Ghost tours downtown, so much history in addition to digging up the past ! Antiques shoppers appreciate Castle Street. If you can work from home or are happily retired there is no reason to suffer through ice and snow when you an appreciate all Wilmington has to offer and the Casita warmly welcomes you.

The Casita was designed in 2022 and reclaimed materials were used predominantly. The host has over 8 years experience and has 1000 +reviews with a 4.99 star rating on another fashionable short term rental website, that some are boycotting. Interested in a long term rental? I am retired from a medical research career and live with my 5 cats and French Bull Dog Gomez in the main home, on the property, and happily assist the guests with recommendations and any questions . I happy to discuss prices that would be cost effective and mutually beneficial.

Tips for getting the perfect Cape Fear area vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. To get the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation home in Wilmington:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Casita Welcomes Guests, Year Round in Wilmington. Booking now for Next Winter! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
