How to find the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Cape Fear area area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Cape Fear area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beach Joy: Ocean View Covered Porch, Enclosed Outside Shower, Close to Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
