Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Holden Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Cape Fear area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Cape Fear area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the rightvacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Waterfront Beach Cottage on beautiful Holden Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
