Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Carolina Beach & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Whalers Paradise Summ has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Cape Fear area beach you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
