Holden Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Cape Fear area area. Booking your Cape Fear area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Cape Fear area area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Cape Fear area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beachfront Home w\/Two Oceanfront Covered Porches, Free WiFi, Central AC, W\/D has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
