Vacation rental tips and tricks:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in the Cape Fear area area. To book the largest rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Cape Fear area attractions.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing yourvacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Cozy Rustic Ocean Front Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
