Finding the best Cape Fear area vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Wilmington. To get the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Cape Fear area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the best Cape Fear area vacation home:

  • To start, have your family select vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Darling open concept getaway in the heart of Wilmy - quick drive to beaches & DT has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
